Conestoga Students Incorporated (CSI)

In August 2016, I was given my first professional opportunity in events, as I joined Conestoga College's student association, Conestoga Students Incorporated. As an Events Assistant, I participated in the planning and execution of all Orientation and FROSH Week programming. I also participated in all aspects of monthly event programming for the 2016-2017 school year including event concept development, sourcing vendors, and budget management.

the opportunity to interact with students at a variety of campuses Over the academic year, I was given, including: Doon, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Ingersoll, Brantford, and Schlegel. I helped plan, produce and execute a variety of small and large scale events for over 12 000 students!

In my second year with CSI, I was offered an opportunity to grow in my role upon my promotion to Events Coordinator. I oversaw a team of 3 Event Assistants, alongside 10 Part-Time Staff. We programmed over 200 events at 8 different campuses throughout the 2017-2018 year.

In my third year with CSI, my role evolved again to become the Events and Logistics Coordinator. I was responsible for all pre-planning event details. From site visits, space bookings, vendor bookings, catering requests, I did it all. I also sat on a variety of internal and external college committees including Celebrating Cultural Diversity Week, CSI Joint Health and Safety Committee, and CSI Sponsorship Committee. I was the co-chair for the 2018-2019 Health and Wellness Week Committee, in which I helped develop and execute two weeks of programming specifically targeted to students physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

My time at Conestoga Students Incorporated has been very opportunistic. I have been able to design and develop a variety of programs from scratch, and assist in the planning and execution of many large-scale events including Orientation & FROSH Weeks, Diwali, and two Welcome Back Concerts. It will forever be marked as one of the greatest experiences of my career.
